"Roping off the Madman's Corner"

Ok, not as grouchy today, and somewhat liking this tri-tone process, even if it is frustrating that I don't have control over the colors in the same way as a usual four color process. Oh well. Here's the image for the poem "Roping off the madman's corner"

tri-tone attempt...sigh

maybe I'll get it eventually. I just don't feel as good with tri tones because all the color adjustments I want to make have to be done in the duotone menu with graphs...gaaaa...math!! Lots of work in store for me this weekend, getting these images to look remotely like I want.

Right. So, worst crit ever and Lindsey had her first real mental breakdown. For proof of said breakdown maybe I should scan my two page doodle that took over my hand during the 2.5 hours of the "LINDSEY YOU ARE UNPREPARED AND STUPID" crit. Yes, I am stupid because I didn't really follow the assignment and create quadtoned images. But dang nab it all to the depths of heck, I DON'T LIKE QUADTONED IMAGES FOR BOB DYLAN'S POETRY!!!!! Freakin A! If the Bob himself approached me to design a real book of his selected poetry, and someone suggested at the creative meeting "Hey, what if we made all the images quadtones...?" Bob would smack him upside the noggin and say "what are you thinking? have you READ my poetry?? you want to use images that look like they're washed out laundry beaten on the side of a road while the sun smiles down unwittingly?" Or words to that similar creative effect. I just don't feel right about quadtones. Plus it means going back to all my collages and scrapping them basically, because you can't make an effective quadtone without a tonal image (as you can see by the image I posted above, I have four different colors, which is not within the guidelines of the assignment).

But hey, cry a little, maybe do a little voodoo-esque (but not REALLY) doodling and then crack the heck down and freakin make some KICKASS quadflippintones and print it on transparencies and bind the heck out of it and turn it in on Monday at 2. TAKE THAT DESIGN WORLD!!!! I'll teach YOU to make me feel inadequate.

Hooo...I think I need some chocolate...
