I would like to take this time...

Since I have half an hour of time before I really really should get to work, I think I'll do a little "What Classes is Lindsey Taking Now?"

In order of importance academically/personally:

Graphics 3 Publication Design: crucial crucial class for Junior review coming up end of next semester. Basically if we don't do well in this class we'll fail Junior review and have to retake it. Bummer. Teacher's awesome, had her for type last year, a little wacko but an excellent designer and very serious about getting us serious. This is the teacher of the infamous line "Letters are what I love most in the world..." said while stroking the stress on a letter G.

Digital Prepress: extremely confusing and technical printing class. It's going to help us take a job all the way to print. Very helpful but a lot of work.

Comparative Religions: part of my Religions theme (don't ask about Themes...). The teacher is very funny and I've taken down many a quote from her including my favorite: "All we ever talk about is sects sects sects!" (say that outloud, you'll see why it's funny) It's a little difficult for me to be objective and "step back" from religion in order to study different forms of it. Especially when some of the essays we read take cracks at my particular one, Catholicism. But I can take it.

Scripture as Literature: another theme class. The teacher does everything very quickly and is extremely funny to watch when she writes on the board. She does it with her back to the board and stabbing at it...wham wham wham! She'll write a date such as 586 B.C.E. and stab the periods in alllllll over the place. Interesting class though. Even if there is a know-it-all who corrects the teacher every other comment and answers questions that the students direct at her. He's also in Comp. religions sadly enough.

Intro to Advertising: grrrr, my lowest level class and yet my most annoying work-wise. Every class period we have to read a chapter from the book (50,000 pages) and do an "experiential exercise" which often involve calling up random strangers at retail stores and interviewing them on their advertising. Then we have to write up a little paper on what we found etc. So twice a week we do these things, guess how much they're worth? You never will. You're thinking 25 points each, right? Something along those lines? WRONG!! Each exercise is worth HALF a POINT!! That's right, .5 points. 1/2 a point. So basically there is very little motivation prompting me to do these diabolical exercises. Veeeeeeeery little. I've only skipped one though, amazingly enough. I'm such a sap.
